Mi Pad 2 or Mi5 incoming? More Xiaomi releases expected!

Mi Pad 2 Teaser

Following the celebration of Xiaomi’s 5th anniversary. Xiaomi is now the number one smartphone brand in China, and is placed third worldwide. This is tremendous considering the fact that they are only 5 years old.

Anyway, the company has held their anniversary event quite recently, where they announced some new products, some of the products announced during the anniversary event were the 55-inch Ultra HD Mi TV 2, a new budget smartphone, the Leadcore-powered Redmi 2A, a Smart Scale, the Pink version of the Mi Note etc…. From the look of things, it seems like Xiaomi is not done yet!

Xiaomi has released yet another teaser which suggests we will see something new announced on the 8th of April. As we can see in the image below, Xiaomi has decided to use two Jacks (cards) as the teaser for its new product announcement.

Some rumors point to a really affordable new product, others point to the Mi Pad 2. The Mi Pad 2 seems likely, especially given the recent price cuts that the Mi Pad has received. We haven’t seen many Mi Pad 2 leaks so far, but from what we know it’s suggested that the  Mi Pad 2 will retain the 7.9-inch display, and also be powered by Intel’s SoC unlike its predecessor (which used Nvidia’s Tegra K1 chip)

It’s alleged that the MiPad 2 will feature a 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

On the other hand, a recent MIUI update from Xioami changed the stock animation to this…

Anyway, we are still hoping to see other products to appear soon (A smartwatch, the Redmi Note 2…) and track record indicates Xiaomi is capable of throwing a curveball or 2 but whatever it is, we will keep you updated.
