Redmi 2A launched by Xiaomi (~ Rs 6,000)

Redmi 2A

What the heck is wrong with Xiaomi? It seems like there is a product release every day. But then again its great when unlike others they aren’t just releasing products for the sake of releasing them but actually providing value for money and satisfying consumer demands.

Xiaomi today launched what they call the Redmi 2A in China. With a price tag of just 599 Yuan (Rs ~6,000 approximately), the device marks almost the same price as the Redmi 1 which could possibly win the battle among low-to-mid range smartphone manufacturers on the market. The Redmi 2A has all the features and specs therein of the Redmi 2 but swaps the chip inside (like we reported earlier)

Both the design and the hardware configurations on the Xiaomi Redmi 2A follows that of the Redmi 2, but with Snapdragon 410 inside substituted by the domestic LC1860 and the five-mode baseband is replaced by the three-mode baseband.

The Redmi 2A is powered by a 1.5GHz Leadcore LC1860C quad-core processor coupled with an Mali T628MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The rest of the specifications are quite similar to the Redmi 2. The device also features a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixels), 8GB internal storage, 2,200mAh battery, and LTE support.

As it stands now, there is currently no word on when the company plans on launching the smartphone in other markets. Let us what you think, would you grab your hands on the Redmi 2A should it go on sale in India?
