Just last week, xiaomi launched the next generation line of its Smart TV. Before, the company had already gone ahead to introduce its latest flagship products, the Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, YiCamera among other amazing devices.
Following the launch of their 40″ Smart TV dubbed Mi TV 2, Xiaomi has announced on their forums that they will hold a media event to launch new products on March 31st. What products can we expect to see at the March 31 event?
What We Know Xiaomi’s Event Launch
We its quite unclear what products Xiaomi will be launching, but we have some expectation as to what our audience should expect. Our faith lies on some recent leaks that indicated that Xiaomi could be working on a smartwatch, this event may very well give us our first look at that product.
From the diction of the announcement it appears we will see multiple product announcements at the event which we at C4eTech are predicting it could also be the launch of a Mi 5 looking at the letter 5 in the Mi Bunny toy. Xiaomi put up a poll in their forum post asking fans to predict the number of products they will announce.
What to Expect
The smartwatch from Xiaomi, rumored to be called simply Mi Watch, is supposed to feature a circular face with a brushed metal design and advanced blood pressure monitoring using pulse wave recognition.
Several manufacturers have gravitated to the circular smartwatch format after the release of the Moto 360. Hopefully Xiaomi will bring a refined design and some new features to the increasingly crowded circular smartwatch category and also a smartwatch that everyone can afford as the company is known as the manufacture of high-end specs devices with budget price tagging.
#AskMi: Will Xiaomi be releasing a smartwatch?
Following what we know we are expecting the announcement of mostly budget and mid-range devices. Leaks suggest that one of the devices will be a mid-range device code-named Ferrari.
This device is said to feature a 4.9-inch full-HD display, a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM, 12MP camera and 4.8MP front camera. The device was found in benchmarks to run a newer version of MIUI based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Aside from these offerings, we have to wonder if Xiaomi will throw in a few surprises as well. A 5 year anniversary party seems like a great event to break out a new product category or two. Anyone have a prediction on what else they might have up their sleeves for March 31?
