In a sweet treat for Rom modders and developers, Xiaomi has released the kernel source code for the Mi3, Mi4 and Mi Note. The announcement was made public by the lead product manager at Mi India Mr. Jai Mani via their social media streams.
Back in December, Xiaomi’s Hugo Barra promised the kernel code for the Mi3 would be released within Q1, and today, on the last day of Q1 2015, Xiaomi’s finally kept its word.
The kernel sources have been uploaded to GitHub, and can be accessed by following this link. Another great announcement that were made by Mani was that, a MIUI 6 update is being worked on for the Redmi 1s which is expected to be released in April.
Xiaomi claims that an update is ready and it is being tested internally.
